GAY GETS IT DONE (7 p.m.): In the end, there was never any doubt. The two-shot swing at the end of the third round meant nothing for Brian Gay. Even though his lead went from three shots to just one entering today's final round, he got off to another fast start and never looked back, much the way he did at the Verizon Heritage, where he won by 10. He didn't win by that much today -- just five -- but his 18-under total shattered the tournament record by six strokes.

The victory is Gay's second of the season and moves him to fourth in the FedExCup standings. He also became just the fifth wire-to-wire winner in tournament history and now will head to Bethpage Black, having earned a spot in the U.S. Open.

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (AP) -- Brian Gay put on a record-setting show at the Verizon Heritage. And this time, he didn't have to share the spotlight with anyone.

Gay shot a 7-under 64 Sunday to win at Harbour Town Golf Links by an astounding 10 shots. He broke the 13-year-old scoring record, finishing at 20-under 264 on the way to his second PGA TOUR victory.

"Just another unbelievable day," Gay said.

Ted Fort & Steve Ridge -- Second Place / Club Car Pro-Pro Scramble/ Georgia PGA

PDFPrintE-mail

Congrats to Ted Fort and his partner Steve Ridge on their recent T-1 in the Georgia PGA Club Car Pro-Pro Scramble. Aided by Ted's eagle 3 on the par 5 tenth hole, the team was Ten-under-par for the round. Unfortunately for the good guys, they ultimately finished second, losing on the eighth hole of a sudden death playoff. As we say down south, they were "hard dogs to get off the porch".

Proud of you, Ted!

One stroke behind the leaders were two other professionals well known to LBGers: Jeff Hull and Chris Asbell. Great playing, guys!
