Yoda's answer: The Line of Pull is through the #3 Pressure Point, not the Clubshaft butt.

I submit that this is not true.

I don't see where or how you can physically mandate PP#3 and change the top reference point (club butt end) to be external to the shaft...

Martee,

Thank you for another thoughtful, well-researched question.

The Line of Pull of Centrifugal Force is indeed through the #3 Pressure Point. That is why Clubhead Feel -- The Secret per 6-C-2-0 -- is the Clubhead Lag Pressure sensed and controlled through that 'Last Outpost' of the Grip (2-F and 6-C-0-#3).

For the very obvious proof, look again at the photograph of Homer Kelley swinging the weighted line in my post Back To The Future in the Chapter 2/Statement of Principle thread. Here the Line of Pull is clearly evident between the first joint of Homer's Right Forefinger (the #3 Pressure Point). This picture is particularly revealing of the Principle involved because...

...there is no Clubshaft butt!

Study 2-M-2, 2-F, 6-A-3, 6-B-3-0 and 6-C-2-A.

Martee scratches head, shakes head, exhales deeply...profound and total denial..shock..icon_confused.gif

This is what has pop out of the incubator with your statements...

1. One of the three imperatives is 'A Clubhead Lag Pressure Point'
2. PP#3 must be the Clubhead Lag Pressure Point
3. 6-C-2-0 states you can have any combination of PPs to sense BUT you must have PP#3 with your statement.

This really makes me wonder and question Basic Hands to Plane (grips) cause of the location PP#3 may be in (such as 10-2-E and 10-2-F)...

Me think me has confused me totally...Ugh! icon_cry.gif

Yes, Marty, 6-C-2-0 does state that "sensing the Clubhead Lag can be donewith any one or any combination of Pressure Points..."

And then it goes on to say:

"...but herein, unless otherwise specified, always refers to PressurePoint #3. "

So, we leave the #1 (6-C-1-#1) for Hitters to Drive their Right Arm. Weleave #4 (6-C-1-#4) for Swingers to Drive their Left Arm. We leave the#2 (6-C-1-#2) for both Hitters and Swingers for the cocking anduncocking of the Left Wrist.

Finally, we leave good old #3 (6-C-1-#3) to sense the Clubhead Lag.

And also, to sense the all-important Rhythm (2-0, 2-G and 6-B-3-0) ofthe Stroke and thereby allow the #3 Accumulator (the angle formed by the LeftForearm and Club) to maintain its radial alignment with the Left Arm and a LeftWrist vertical to its Associated Plane.

For those who can't make heads or tails out of that last paragraph, join our HingeAction--A Primer thread. That class will begin in earnest soon -- probablytonight -- and the above paragraph will be made crystal clear over the nextcouple of weeks.
