In myseminars years ago, I would show a video of the late Sam Snead. His addressroutine included his characteristic waggle and then a decided 'settling back'onto his heels.
When I ran the video, I would always stop it down frameby frame. And it was always a real hoot to see Sam's toes go from being flaton the ground, to being just off the ground, to being at about a 45degree angle to the ground. Now, when you stop the late great Sam Snead inthis 45 degree 'toes up' position, it really looks pretty funny!
But it did prove the point. At that time, the GolfDigest guys were adamant that The Way was 'weight on the balls ofthe feet.' And with Sam frozen in his 45 degree toes-up mode, I would comment:"Yep, you need to get that weight on the balls of your feet allright!"
And then I would demonstrate the action of a hammerthrower to put the final nail in the Golf Digest coffin.
